Girard College Foundation
Gifts to the Girard Foundation, our annual fund, are critical because these funds, along with endowment earnings, allow us to meet such basic costs as faculty and staff salaries and campus renovations and maintenance. An unrestricted Girard College Foundation gift allows us the flexibility to channel funds where they are most needed to provide the best education to Girard students. You also have the option of making a gift to the GCF in honor or in memory of a friend, loved one, or other individual whose life would be celebrated by your gift to Girard.
For more than 168 years, Girard College has provided excellence in residential education for children from single-parent families of limited financial resources. We have been able to remain tuition-free since we opened in 1848, thanks to the Girard Estate, which provides most – but not all – of the funding needed to cover the costs associated with educating and housing our students in grades 1 through 12. Each year Girard, like most independent and charter schools, depends on the generosity of friends, alumni, parents, faculty and board members for financial support. Gifts to the Girard College Foundation also help to close the gap between what the Girard Estate can provide and the actual cost of educating and caring for each child.
Your tax-deductible donation to the GCF will provide the extra resources needed to help our students explore their interests, talents, and opportunities outside of the classroom and to cultivate skills that will stay with them for life.
The students at Girard are the future of our community and of our world. The success of our mission is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, improving the quality of life for children here and elsewhere, both today and tomorrow.
We have wonderful plans for today's students -- and we need your help to make their tomorrows happen. Thank you for your consideration and support.
