For more than 160 years, Girard College has provided excellence in residential education for children, like yours, from single-parent families with limited financial resources. We have educated generations of children, tuition-free, since 1848, thanks to the foresight and generosity of Stephen Girard and thanks to the Girard Estate, which provides most – but not all – of the funding needed.

Today Girard, like most independent and charter schools, depends on the generosity of our families, as well as friends, alumni, faculty and board members.
